First Inversion opens its thirteenth season, Creative Collaboration in Community, with As We Walk, a festive collaboration with Buffalo’s Harmonia Chamber Singers exploring the ways music brings us together across communities and along shared paths. At the heart of the program is Jocelyn Hagen’s Caminante, a bilingual work for double choir in which Harmonia sings the Spanish text and First Inversion the English, the two musical journeys ultimately joining together. The program also features William Harris’s Fair Is the Heaven, Franz Biebl’s beloved Ave Maria, and closes with Moses Hogan’s exuberant arrangement of Walk Together Children. Join us Friday, October 23 at 7:30 PM at Downtown United Presbyterian Church in Rochester or Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 PM at Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville.

First Inversion is proud to be Artists in Residence with Arts Link at Downtown Presbyterian Church, partnering in ministry to build Beloved Community. As always, the concerts are offered as a gift to the community, with suggested donations of $25, or $10 for students, to support First Inversion’s work.
