SUMMARY:And Justice For All. . .
DESCRIPTION:First Inversion and FuturPointe Dance join forces for a pr

h a program that addresses more specific\, contemporary social justice
issues. Joel Thompson’s direct and moving work\, “Seven Last Words of
the Unarmed\,” for men’s voices and small instrumental ensemble\, set
s to music the final words of seven unarmed African-American men shot
by police officers in recent years. Caroline Shaw’s “To the Hands\,” f
or voices and string quintet combines words from diverse sources inclu
ding the Bible and the Statue of Liberty with traditional and contempo
rary soundscapes to comment on the universal need to care for those di
