 to All the Pleasures.” The concert features two odes to the Patroness 
 of Music\, St. Cecilia\, by Baroque masters\, George Frederick Handel 
 and Henry Purcell. Soloists\, Robin Steitz (soprano) Salvador Lopez Po
 rtillo (countertenor) Pablo Bustos (tenor) and Michael Galvin (bass) j
 oin First Inversion with an orchestra of period instruments. Handel’s 
 “Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day\,” and Purcell's “Welcome to All the Pleasu
 res\,” were both written for the feast of St. Cecilia\, celebrated eve
 ry year on November 22nd. Purcell’s work delights the senses with the 
 gentle sounds of strings and continuo. Handel fortifies his longer wor
 k with flute\, oboes\, trumpets\, and timpani.
